Four friends sitting on grass in a mountain meadow, smiling and making peace signs, with trees and a mountain peak in the background.

We are a collective of likeminded people who love mountains.

We chose Zermatt as our home because there is nowhere else quite like it. A village without cars, surrounded by glaciers and high mountains, where life still moves a little differently. We are grateful every day to step outside and witness the beauty of this place- quiet forests, crystal-clear mountain water, early mornings and unforgettable sunrises.

Through Inside Altitude, we hope to share a more meaningful side of the mountains - beautiful landscapes, local knowledge and authentic moments in the Alps, beyond the crowded viewpoints and predictable itineraries.

Some of our experiences are peaceful and slow. Others are adventurous and demanding. But all of them are designed to help people experience the mountains more deeply and authentically.

Meet the Team

Kate

A female climber in a red jacket with climbing gear, helmet, and sunglasses ascending a snowy mountain slope near a rocky cliff.

After years in London working in psychology and neuroscience, Kate followed her heart to the mountains of Zermatt. From early morning trail runs to long alpine days and winter climbing, she feels most at home somewhere high above the valleys. Her background taught her how people experience challenges; the mountains taught her why they seek them.

She loves the contrast Zermatt offers - wild alpine terrain, snow-covered peaks and a village where life still feels connected to nature.

Her favorite part of alpine bivouacs under the stars is discussing astrophysics and pretending she fully understands it.

Hana

Woman with curly red hair wearing a wide-brimmed hat, denim vest, and a colorful floral dress, holding a bouquet of white flowers, standing beside an old wooden building with rustic stairs.

Originally trained as an archaeologist, Hana spent years studying ancient cultures and texts before eventually trading libraries and excavations for life in the Alps.

She fell in love with Zermatt for its quiet rhythm, old wooden houses and strong connection between people, nature and tradition. Outside of work, she loves long walks with her dog and knows more about local fauna than most books.

During quiet seasons, she regularly disappears to Africa to support wildlife conservation projects - somehow convincing people in Zermatt to support these causes too.

Nima

Nima has a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether you’re sharing tea in a mountain lodge or standing beneath a Himalayan giant. We first met many years ago under the south face of Cho Oyu, and since then, his kindness, calm nature, and team spirit have made him someone we always enjoy sharing adventures with.

He spends part of the year guiding climbers and trekkers in Nepal, where he climbed many times Ama Dablam or Tilicho peak, and the other part exploring the mountains of Europe, always happiest when surrounded by high peaks and good company.

For Nima, a 6,000-metre summit is just another day at the office – about as ordinary as the rest of us doing the weekly grocery shop.

Dusan

Dusan is happiest when he is outdoors. He spends his weekends climbing, his free days paragliding, and the rest of the time planning his next adventure. Whether it’s a mountain summit or a quiet trail, he rarely stays indoors for long.

Together with his father, he creates beautiful handcrafted wooden pieces that bring a touch of alpine craftsmanshift to Inside Altitude’s artisan shop.

After reading nearly every mountaineering book he could get his hands on, Dusan reached one simple conclusion: when in doubt, ask yourself, “What would Hermann Buhl do?” So far, it’s been his answer to almost everything.

Guada

Guada is the creative heart behind Pachagurú, our local artisan partner, where art, nature and sustainability come together in every handcrafted piece. Inspired by the landscapes around Zermatt, she transforms botanical prints, natural dyes and reclaimed textiles into beautiful creations, each carrying a story of the mountains.

Whether exploring alpine trails, gathering leaves or experimenting with colours from nature, Guada finds inspiration outdoors and loves sharing the beauty of the Alps.

Most people return from a hike with photos. Guada comes back with next season’s collection.

Ori

Ori is a graphic designer whose love of traveling eventually brought her to the mountains of Zermatt. Curious by nature and happiest when juggling ten things at once, she is the kind of person who somehow keeps everything moving without ever losing her smile.

Through her work with Pachaguru, Ori shares her creativity and fresh ideas with Inside Altitude. She believes that memorable experiences are often shaped by the smallest details - the ones most people never notice.

For Ori, multitasking is not just a skill - it is an extreme sport, and she’s probably the reigning champion.
