Last updated: June 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings, experiences, activities, services, products and purchases made with Inside Altitude.

By booking an experience, submitting a request, making a payment, purchasing a product or taking part in any activity with Inside Altitude, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

Bookings

Bookings are only confirmed once Inside Altitude has accepted the booking and, where applicable, payment has been received.

Submitting a booking request does not automatically confirm availability.

Inside Altitude reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where necessary, including for safety, weather, operational, availability or legal reasons.

Client Responsibility

By booking or taking part in an experience, you confirm that:

You are physically and mentally able to participate in the selected activity.

You have informed Inside Altitude in advance of any medical condition, injury, allergy, dietary requirement, mobility limitation or other relevant issue that may affect your participation.

You will follow all reasonable safety instructions given by Inside Altitude, guides, hosts, restaurants, transport providers, animal owners or other relevant persons.

You understand that mountain environments, outdoor activities, walking, hiking, animals, food experiences and travel involve inherent risks.

You are responsible for wearing suitable clothing and footwear for the activity and weather conditions.

You are responsible for your personal belongings.

You are responsible for arranging appropriate travel, accident, health and liability insurance.

Outdoor and Mountain Activities

Outdoor and mountain activities may involve risks including, but not limited to:

Slips, trips and falls

Uneven ground

Steep paths

Loose stones

Changing weather

Cold, heat, sun exposure or storms

Snow, ice, mud or wet ground

Altitude

Fatigue

Injury

Accidents involving other participants, animals, bicycles, vehicles, trains, lifts or third parties

By taking part in any walking, hiking or mountain-related activity, you accept these inherent risks.

Inside Altitude takes reasonable care when planning and conducting activities, but cannot remove all risks from mountain and outdoor environments.

To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, Inside Altitude is not liable for injury, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience or expense arising from the inherent risks of outdoor activities, from your failure to follow instructions, from unsuitable clothing or footwear, from your own physical condition, or from events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability where such exclusion would not be permitted under applicable law, including liability for unlawful intent or gross negligence.

City Tours

City tours may include walking through streets, alleys, public spaces, historical areas, viewpoints, shops, cafés or other public places in and around Zermatt.

You are responsible for your own safety when crossing roads, walking on pavements, stairs, cobbled streets, icy or wet surfaces, crowded areas or public spaces.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for accidents, injuries, loss or damage caused by public infrastructure, other pedestrians, vehicles, weather, shops, cafés, restaurants, public authorities or other third parties, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Hiking Experiences

Hiking experiences require an appropriate level of fitness and suitable footwear.

Inside Altitude may adjust, shorten, reroute, delay or cancel a hike where weather, trail conditions, participant ability, safety or operational circumstances make this necessary.

The guide or host’s decision regarding route choice, pace, continuation, modification or cancellation is final.

If a participant behaves in a way that creates a safety risk, refuses to follow instructions, appears unfit to continue, or endangers themselves or others, Inside Altitude may exclude that participant from the activity without refund.

Black-Nosed Sheep Experience and Animal Encounters

Animal encounters involve live animals and therefore carry unpredictable risks.

Sheep and other animals may move suddenly, bite, kick, push, run, cause allergic reactions, damage clothing or belongings, or behave unpredictably.

By taking part in an animal encounter, you accept these risks.

You must follow all instructions given by Inside Altitude, the animal owner, farm staff or any responsible person.

You must not feed, touch, chase, scare, lift, restrain or approach animals unless expressly permitted.

Children must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.

Inside Altitude is not the owner or keeper of the animals unless expressly stated. Responsibility for the animals remains with the relevant animal owner or keeper, subject to applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inside Altitude is not liable for injury, allergic reaction, damage, loss or expense caused by animals, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Food Experiences and Fondue Evenings

Food experiences may take place in restaurants, mountain restaurants, cafés or other third-party venues.

Inside Altitude may organise, accompany or host the experience, but food and drinks are prepared and served by the relevant restaurant or food provider unless expressly stated otherwise.

You are responsible for informing Inside Altitude and the restaurant in advance of any allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions or medical conditions.

Inside Altitude cannot guarantee that food or drinks will be free from allergens, traces of allergens, cross-contamination or ingredients that may cause a reaction.

The restaurant or food provider is responsible for food preparation, food hygiene, ingredient handling and service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inside Altitude is not liable for allergic reactions, food intolerances, food poisoning, illness, injury, loss or damage arising from food or drink provided by third-party restaurants or suppliers, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Transport, Trains, Lifts and Third-Party Services

Some experiences may involve or recommend trains, mountain railways, cable cars, lifts, taxis, restaurants, shops, farms, guides, accommodation providers, payment providers, shipping providers or other third-party services.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, these third-party services are operated independently and are subject to their own terms, prices, schedules, safety rules and liability.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for delays, cancellations, closures, accidents, timetable changes, technical issues, service quality, strikes, overcrowding, weather interruptions or decisions made by third-party providers.

Where Inside Altitude arranges or recommends third-party services, it does so in good faith, but responsibility for the proper performance of those services remains with the relevant provider, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

Weather and Safety Cancellations by Inside Altitude

Mountain weather can change quickly.

Inside Altitude reserves the right to cancel, postpone, modify or shorten any activity if we consider that weather, trail conditions, transport disruption, safety concerns, illness, guide availability or other circumstances make the activity unsuitable or unsafe.

If Inside Altitude cancels an activity before it starts because we decide that it cannot safely or reasonably go ahead, the client will receive a full refund of the amount paid to Inside Altitude for that activity.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for additional costs such as travel, accommodation, insurance, equipment, meals, missed connections or other expenses incurred by the client.

Client Cancellation Policy for Experiences

If the client cancels a confirmed experience, no refund will be given.

This applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including illness, travel disruption, change of plans, delayed arrival, missed transport or unsuitable personal equipment.

Clients are strongly advised to arrange appropriate travel and cancellation insurance.

Inside Altitude may, at its sole discretion, offer to reschedule a booking where possible, but this is not guaranteed and does not create a right to a refund.

Late Arrival and No-Show

Clients must arrive at the agreed meeting point on time.

If a client arrives late, the experience may be shortened, changed or treated as a no-show.

No refund will be given for late arrival, missed meeting points or no-shows.

Prices and Payments

Prices are stated in Swiss francs unless otherwise indicated.

Payment may be required in advance.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe.

Inside Altitude does not store full payment card details.

A booking or order is not confirmed until payment has been received, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Online Shop

Inside Altitude may operate an online shop offering art, handmade items, mountain-related products or other goods connected to Zermatt and the mountains.

Product descriptions, prices, availability and delivery times are provided in good faith.

Because many items may be handmade, artistic, limited, unique or produced in small quantities, slight variations in colour, size, texture, appearance or finish may occur.

Such variations are not considered defects.

Product Orders and Availability

An online order is confirmed only once payment has been received and the order has been accepted.

Inside Altitude reserves the right to cancel and refund an order if a product is unavailable, incorrectly priced, damaged, unsuitable for shipment, or affected by an error on the website.

Shipping and International Delivery

Products may be shipped in Switzerland or internationally.

Shipping times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for delays caused by postal services, couriers, customs, import checks, strikes, weather, incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The client is responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

If a parcel is returned because of an incorrect address, failed delivery, non-collection or customs refusal, additional shipping costs may apply.

Customs, Import Duties and Taxes

For international orders, the customer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, handling charges or other fees required by the destination country.

These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost unless expressly stated.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for customs delays, import restrictions or additional charges imposed by authorities.

Returns and Refunds for Products

Unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise, product purchases are final.

Returns are not accepted for handmade, artistic, customised, limited-edition, used, damaged-after-delivery or sale items unless the product is defective or the wrong item was sent.

If you believe an item is defective or incorrect, you must contact Inside Altitude in writing within 7 days of receiving the product and provide photographs and a description of the issue.

If a return is accepted, the product must be returned unused, undamaged and in its original packaging.

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless required by law or unless the error was caused by Inside Altitude.

Mandatory consumer rights, where applicable, remain unaffected.

Damage During Shipping

If a product arrives visibly damaged, you must photograph the packaging and product immediately and contact Inside Altitude as soon as possible.

Inside Altitude will assess the situation and may require cooperation with the postal or courier provider.

Refunds or replacements for shipping damage are not automatic and will depend on the circumstances, evidence and applicable law.

Intellectual Property

All website content, text, photographs, images, branding, logos, designs and product descriptions belong to Inside Altitude or the relevant creator unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, use or modify any content without prior written permission.

Purchasing artwork or products does not transfer copyright or intellectual property rights unless expressly agreed in writing.

Photos and Marketing

Inside Altitude may take photographs during experiences for business, documentation or marketing purposes only with appropriate consent where required.

If you do not wish to appear in photographs or marketing material, please inform Inside Altitude before the activity begins.

Children

Children may participate in certain experiences only when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.

Inside Altitude is not responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by lack of parental supervision.

Insurance

Clients are responsible for arranging their own insurance, including health insurance, accident insurance, travel insurance, cancellation insurance, personal liability insurance and insurance for personal belongings.

Inside Altitude strongly recommends that all participants have adequate accident and travel insurance before taking part in any activity.

Force Majeure

Inside Altitude is not liable for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural hazards, illness, accidents, transport disruption, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, war, civil unrest, technical failures, supplier failure or other unforeseeable events.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, Inside Altitude is not liable for indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of enjoyment, emotional distress, missed travel, missed accommodation, lost income, lost opportunity, personal belongings, additional expenses or claims arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Inside Altitude’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the client for the relevant booking, service or product, unless a higher liability is required by mandatory law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for unlawful intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

Behaviour and Refusal of Participation

Inside Altitude may refuse participation or remove a client from an activity without refund if the client:

Fails to follow safety instructions

Behaves aggressively, abusively or irresponsibly

Appears intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

Endangers themselves, other participants, animals, staff or third parties

Provides false or incomplete information

Arrives without suitable clothing, footwear or equipment

Is not physically able to participate safely

Changes to Experiences

Inside Altitude may modify routes, timings, meeting points, content, restaurants, transport arrangements or activity details where necessary for safety, weather, availability, operational or quality reasons.

Reasonable changes do not entitle the client to a refund.

Complaints

Any complaint must be made in writing to info@insidealtitude.com as soon as possible.

Clients must give Inside Altitude a reasonable opportunity to address any issue during the experience or as soon as possible afterwards.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, any dispute shall be subject to the competent courts in Switzerland.

Severability

If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid and enforceable.

Updates

Inside Altitude may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The version published on the website at the time of booking or purchase applies, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
