FIVE LAKES HIKE

Discover Zermatt’s most iconic mountain landscape on a journey through five alpine lakes, each revealing a different perspective of the Matterhorn and the beauty of the Swiss Alps.

Overview

The Five Lakes Hike (5-Seenweg) is one of Zermatt’s most celebrated panoramic walks, combining spectacular Matterhorn views, crystal-clear alpine lakes and diverse mountain scenery.

After taking the lift system into the alpine area, the trail leads through five distinct lakes - Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee, and Leisee - each offering it’s own character, from famous Matterhorn reflections and peaceful larch forests to glacial waters and open alpine meadows.

Designed for enjoyment rather than speed, this experience combines breathtaking scenery, local mountain insights, and plenty of opportunities to pause, explore, and take pictures along the way.
